Terms of Use

The rules for using this website, joining the rider waitlist, and applying as a bike shop. Plain language, no traps.

Last updated: 12 August 2026

Where things stand. Cycling Market has not launched yet. Right now this website does two things: it lets riders join a waitlist, and it lets bike shops apply to become founding sellers. Nothing on this site is an offer to sell a bicycle, and no purchases can be made here.

1. About these terms

These terms apply to your use of cyclingmarket.com.au (the "site"), operated by Cycling Market ("we", "us", "our"). By using the site or submitting a form on it, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

We may update these terms as the business develops, particularly when the marketplace launches. The "last updated" date above shows the current version.

2. What this site currently is

The site is a pre-launch information and signup page. It describes a marketplace we are building for verified independent Australian bike shops, planned to open late 2026.

Bike listings, prices, brands and search results shown on the site are illustrative of how the marketplace will work. They are not live inventory and are not offers to sell. The search function is not yet operational.

We give no guarantee about the launch date. If our plans change, the waitlist obligation is simply that we will not use your details for anything other than what you signed up for.

3. Joining the rider waitlist

Joining is free and carries no obligation. You may leave the list at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or by emailing us.

When you join you agree to receive email from us about the launch and, if you asked for it, about stock near you. We handle your details in line with our Privacy Policy.

Please provide accurate details, and only sign up using an email address you control.

4. Applying as a bike shop

Submitting an application is not acceptance. We assess every applicant against our published verification standard, which requires a registered and active ABN, a physical shopfront, an independent (non-chain) business, and a trading name that matches the business.

We may decline any application at our discretion, and we may remove a shop later if it stops meeting the standard — for example if it closes, changes hands, or its ABN lapses.

Pricing shown on the For Shops page, including the founder offer, is our current intended pricing. It becomes binding only when we confirm your place in writing and a subscription actually begins. The founder offer is limited to the first ten shops accepted, and we may withdraw or change it before then.

5. How the marketplace will work

When the marketplace launches, we will connect riders with shops — nothing more. We will not process payments, hold funds, or act as agent for either side.

That means any sale is a contract between you and the bike shop, not with us. Warranties, delivery, assembly, fitting, returns and refunds are the shop's responsibility under its own terms and under Australian Consumer Law. We are not a party to that transaction and cannot resolve disputes about it, though we will act on reports that a shop is behaving badly.

6. Acceptable use

When using this site, you agree not to:

  • Submit false, misleading or someone else's details
  • Use automated tools to scrape, harvest or bulk-submit to the site
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site or its systems
  • Interfere with the site's operation or security
  • Use the site for anything unlawful

7. Our content

The design, text, logo and branding on this site belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy, reproduce or reuse them commercially without our written permission. Brand names and trade marks belonging to bicycle manufacturers are the property of those companies and are referred to for identification only.

8. Availability and accuracy

We try to keep the site accurate and available, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the site at any time.

9. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Subject to that, to the extent permitted by law we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this site, and our total liability to you in connection with the site is limited to resupplying the relevant service or paying the cost of having it resupplied.

10. Links to other sites

The site may link to third-party websites, including bike shops' own sites. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, terms or privacy practices.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Australian courts.
