The problem

Buying a bike online
shouldn't be a gamble.

Australia has hundreds of excellent independent bike shops. Finding what they have in stock, right now, is almost impossible — so riders end up on marketplaces built for used couches.

01 / SIGNAL

The listing is noise

Ten pages of blurry photos, no size, no groupset, no idea if it's stolen. You spend more time filtering out junk than looking at bikes.

02 / RISK

No comeback if it's wrong

A private sale has no warranty, no assembly, no fitting and no recourse. If the frame is cracked or the bike is stolen, that's your problem.

03 / STOCK

Real stock is invisible

The shop 15 minutes away may have exactly your bike in exactly your size. You'll never know, because it isn't listed anywhere you'd look.

What verified actually means

Five checks before
a shop goes live.

One rule runs the whole marketplace: if you can't hold a conversation with a mechanic at a physical counter, you can't sell here.

01

A trading name, not a username

The business name on the listing is the business name above the door. No aliases, no burner accounts.

02

A current Australian Business Number

Checked against the ABR. Registered, active, and matched to the business trading on the site.

03

A physical shopfront you can visit

A real address with a real workshop. You can walk in, test ride the bike, and meet the person who built it.

04

Independent, not a national chain

This marketplace exists for the shops that get squeezed by the big end of town. That's who gets verified.

05

Re-checked, not set and forgotten

Verification carries a date. If a shop closes or changes hands, the badge comes down.

For riders

Three steps. No middleman.

We don't take payment, we don't hold your money, and we don't sit between you and the shop. We just make the introduction.

Search real stock

Filter by type, brand, size, price and state. Everything you see is on a shop floor somewhere in Australia.

Enquire direct

Your message goes straight to the shop's inbox. No agent, no lead broker, no one taking a slice to pass it on.

Buy from the shop

Deal with the shop the way you always would — with a warranty, a proper build, and a fitting before you ride out.

The difference

Same bike. Different risk.

Questions

Straight answers.

Can I sell my own bike here?

No — and that's the whole point. Every seller on Cycling Market is a verified independent bike shop with a registered ABN and a physical shopfront. If we let private sellers in, we'd be another marketplace, and the trust would be worth nothing.

Does Cycling Market take a cut of the sale?

Never. Shops pay a flat monthly subscription and keep one hundred per cent of every sale. We don't process payments, so there's nothing for us to take a percentage of.

How do I actually buy a bike?

You enquire through the listing and the shop replies to you directly. From there you deal with the shop exactly as you would if you'd walked in — including test rides, sizing, fitting and warranty.

When does it launch?

Late 2026. We're verifying founding shops now so there's real stock on the site from the first day riders can search it.

Do you sell used bikes?

Yes, where the shop is selling them — ex-demo, trade-ins and pre-loved bikes that a shop has inspected and stands behind. The difference is that a business with a reputation has put its name to the condition.
